The Celtics started out hot in their first meeting of the year against the Los Angeles Lakers – leading by as many as 20 points in the first half. Aron Baynes – who was acquired by Boston from Detroit as apart of the Avery Bradley trade – had a huge night. Scoring a career high 21 points. Baynes lead the team in scoring. Kyrie Irving put up 15 with 4 boards & 3 assists.
The Lakers fought their way back into the game – going into halftime cutting the Celtics lead to 9. They came within three points during the second half but ultimately sloppy mistakes cost the Lakers any chance of winning. Brandon Ingram lead the team with 18 points & 7 rebounds, followed by Julius Randle – who came off the bench to score 16 with 12 rebounds.
This loss puts the Lakers at 5-5 as they sit in the middle of the standings in the Western Conference.
Boston continues to roll now winning 10 straight – they lead the Eastern Conference with a record of 9-2.
