Yankees, Marlins Reach Agreement to bring Giancarlo Stanton to New York

Hold onto your seats Yankees fans — Brian Cashman has done it again.

MLB Networks Jon Morosi broke the blockbuster news on twitter early Saturday morning that the Yankees are set to acquire free-agent Giancarlo Stanton from Miami.

Former Yankee’ Captain Derek Jeter, who is now the current CEO of the Miami Marlins certainly played a major influence on the power-hitter’s move to suite up in the iconic Yankee pinstripes in 2018.

Stanton will be joining a New York team that is absolutely loaded with young talent. As a team in 2017 the Bronx Bombers hit a total of 241 home runs — Rookie of the Year Aaron Judge hitting 52 of them on his own.

There was only person in all of Major League Baseball that hit more bombs than Aaron Judge did last season — that was Giancarlo Stanton (59).

A new era begins in the Bronx this spring. Knowing it’s very possible that over 100 home runs will be hit in the upcoming regular season between Judge & Stanton alone is exciting — just imagine watching batting practice with those two.

The Yankees just jumped to the front of the pack for World Series favorites in my book. Good luck to the Red Sox front office as they attempt to outdo this move.

George Steinbrenner is smiling with his feet up at his desk in the clouds right now. The great Brain Cashman has done it again, but this time with a little help from the Captain. I’m sure I speak for all of New York as I tip my cap and I say, thanks Derek. To Giancarlo, welcome to the Big Apple, Slugger.
